Shamone K. Rice was born in Harlem, NY, and is the only child of Shirley Simmons. She was enrolled in Catholic School in New York City and after graduation, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Lehman College and a Master’s of Science in Educational Leadership from Kaplan University. She is currently employed by The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene as an Early Childhood Educational Consultant. She endeavors to attend Seminary and obtain an advanced academic degree in divinity.
Shamone grew up and was baptized in the Mt. Bethel Baptist Church in Harlem, NY, and in 2005 she moved her membership to the Dayspring Baptist Church in Harlem, NY. It was during this period that Shamone grew spiritually under the preaching and teaching of the word. In obedience to God Shamone went back to the Mt. Bethel Baptist Church in 2008. She became a member of the Adult Choir and Youth Leader of the Young Adult Choir. She was later issued a license to preach the gospel under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Gloria Bradshaw. Rev. Rice was ordained as a reverend on December 12, 2021.
Reverend Shamone K. Rice is an Associate Minister of the Mt. Bethel Baptist Church where she has been Youth Minister for 11 years. Under her leadership, the youth ministry has provided outreach to their local community, engaged in theatrical performances, and served as juniors in multiple ministries within the church. She has created a Sunday School curriculum that allows for differentiation within the lessons. It is her objective to launch this 10-month curriculum following ordination. Minister Rice has assisted in the Women’s Ministry and created a segment within it titled “An Evening With Your Creator”. She assists Rev. Bradshaw in Christening, Sabbath Activities, and New Membership Training classes.
Reverend Shamone K. Rice is a mother of three children, Destini, DaJuan, and Jade. Her love of God is described in Romans 8:38-39: “there is nothing that will be able to separate her from the love of God.”
